Assigned to 578BS, 392BG, 8AF USAAF. Failed to Return (FTR) mission to Leipheim, due to mechanical failure, B-24 41-28688 could not maintain formation or altitude. Baled out around Freiburg. Killed in Action (KIA). MACR 4362. Chute seen by crew to open, though german intel stated otherwise.
