I Pray To God

Adonai, you reveal the houses built upon sand.
This storm has taken me overboard...
I have tried to swim, to keep my head above water,
And behold, I sink.
Behold, I am drowning among so many others.

You have called us to tread upon deep waters,
Yet we are weak, torn asunder
I see the lures of the enemy on hooks poised to kill.
Again and again we’ve clung to them for dear life,
Failing to look above and see you kneeling on the water,
Hand outstretched to pull us up.

Save Us, Adonai Elohim!

As for me, I look to so many distractions to save me;
I take my refuge in this world to find employment,
To find Her,
To find Love,
To find the one who will stay,
To find the one I will sing with,
To find that wonderful, sweet human connection,
To find peace from the tyranny of my mind,
To find, quite simply, life...

But Lord, you came that I may have life abundant.
Remind me again just what that means.
Cleanse my mind from the horrors I have seen.
Heal my eyes, my soul, my heart.

You have said, “Seek My face and Live.”
Your face, Lord, help me seek.
For I seek your face in the things of this world, and behold,

I die. I am nothing. All comes to naught. I am empty.

Help me, as genuinely as I can, turn back to you.
I wish to love You again, Lord my Strength.
You are my Rock, my Fortress, my Deliverer.
My God is my Rock, in You I should seek Refuge.
You are my Shield, and the Horn of my Salvation; my Stronghold.

I call now to the Lord Jesus, who is worthy of all Honor and Glory and Praise,
Save me Lord, from my enemies!
The Cords of death entangle me,
The torrents of destruction overwhelm me,
The cords of the grave coil around me,
The s area of death surround me,
But the Lord my God surrounds my enemies.
They will come at me one way,
but because of You, they will flee Seven ways.

In my distress, I call to my God
I cry to You for help.
Hear my voice from on High, Emmanuel,
May my cry come before You, to Your ears.

Save me, Lord!

Reach down from on High and take hold of me,
Draw me out again from these deep waters.
Rescue me from my powerful enemies,
From my foes, who are too strong for me.

For I call to you, God for only you will save me.
I complain morning, noon and night,
And you hear my voice.
The God of innumerable stars hears my voice.
Though many are against me,
You will redeem me from my war unscathed.

When I am afraid,
I will trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise;
In God I trust; I will not be afraid.

For you alone of brought me this far.
You have made note of all my sufferings.
You alone gather my tears in a jar.
Are they not written in your book?

I am obligated by vows to You, Lord.
I will praise You for all that You have done
For You alone rescued me from death,
Even my feet from stumbling,
To walk before God in the light of Life.

Thank you, Jesus,
For what used to define me no longer defines Me.
I have been crucified with Christ,
And it is no longer I who lives,
But Christ who lives within me.

Amen.
Selah.
