I Think Indoctrinating Children With Religion Is Child Abuse

Perhaps this title is rather extreme and blankets everything too easily with one simplistic sentence. But there's definitely a case for arguing it.
Speaking to an indoctrinated adult always make me feel worried for their children...

The term "indoctrinating" show an undeniably bias. Parents teaching their children what they believe about a faith or God is sensible and responsible. Adult children of all different religions and forms of atheism have grown up to reasonable adults and had no problem making up their own mind to follow or reject said belief and teaching.

Is this a joke? People grow up and kill in the name of religions. There hasn't ever been a case of someone killing in the name of atheism to my knowledge...

@sleepyhead: yes of course there has, its called the Holocaust and Marxism

@GJOFJ3: Ahhhh, no. I don't believe they happened you see, and because that's what I believe, even though I have no proof for my claims, you have to accept that as the truth. That's the way it works I'm afraid.

I've discussed the existence of Gods with various religious people and they all came to the same conclusion; they believe God exists, they have no proof but because they believe it they know it to be true.

It's amazing isn't it?! If only we'd all known back in school that's how it works..

@sleepyhead: and you should have every right to teach that belief set to your children without anyone telling you it is child abuse. That is my only point.

@GJOFJ3: My only point on this was that I worry, when speaking to indoctrinated adults, about their children.

The title is not a question or a point I am making; it's a preset one that gets suggested when searching for a relevant topic to post thoughts in.

@GJOFJ3: what do either the Holocaust or Marxism have to do with atheism?
