Science and religion can both be taken advantage of in the wrong hands. These concepts themselves are innocent. It's people who can make them wrong.

@Emosaur Right. It's people who did the wrong in everything you just mentioned. Not religion or science. You can cherry pick certain cases where religion has done wrong, and I can do the same for science. That doesn't change the fact that people made the bad choices with those as their tools.

@Emosaur Yes, it was wrong. Doesn't change my point that science has indeed taught wrong before, just like religion. What's the difference there? In both cases people thought they knew more than they did and used science or religion to spread the wrong message. Admiting wrong or not is up to a person, not a concept. Science and religion can both correct past mistakes depending on the followers of it because it comes down to them. There's plenty of scientists who would refuse to admit they're wrong and plenty of religious people who would never kill to be right. Don't blame a entire concept over a few bad followers of it.

@Emosaur Well, I was talking about how both scientists and religious people have been guilty of spreading misinformation intended to hurt. My point being that both parties have had people in them who have done the wrong thing. You tried to separate those bad scientists from "real scientists". I could easily do the same thing with religious people I personally know but I think that would be pointless so I won't.
There aren't things I hate, no. There are things I certainly feel should be kept out of society. Such as rapists or murderers, but I do not hate them. They just make me very sad. I don't want to be like them and spread more negativity into the world. So I'm not hateful.

@Emosaur No, the only representation individuals have for these is whatever representation you give them. You're clearly out to attack religion so I can see why you're so determined to cherry pick a select few and believe they represent religion as a whole. It helps your narrow views make more sense. Science is an ideology that teaches stuff. Anyone else would agree, anyone other than you I think.
No, I do not consider someone who hates one thing hateful. However I do consider someone who hates the entirety of religion hateful.
