I Think Indoctrinating Children With Religion Is Child Abuse

I've been talking to a bisexual boy who is also a Christian lately.
I didn't know about it at first, but when he asked me if I believed in God and I replied with "no", he made me realize how religious people are pretty much victims of an ideology.
I couldn't resist and asked him if his family accepted him for who he is, turned out he doesn't even accept himself. He's so convinced of the idea that his entire life is a sin, it honestly hurts just thinking about how there are people spending their entire lives believing in all the teachings of their religion even if they're directly against them.
I hope one day enough people will realize how harmful many religions are fundamentally so that eventually they will be considered nothing more than mythologies.

How can they choose if they are not taught , same can be said of education..to learn what field you want to work in if you are not given the lessons, life is also a teaching platform, religions are a chouce in the end but no choices are made if your uneducated in the bible etc?.. in the end you believe or you dont.. he believes so hes trying to do what right IN His mind.. you think its wrong ..whos to say you are right? Live and let live..

@Emosaur He is a victim only of his own bad choices. Not of the religion that tells him how to save himself from them.

@Emosaur No. He is a beneficiary of it. He needs to do what he was taught as part of his "indoctrination" and achieve eternal happiness instead of following pop culture stupidity and giving up his real joy.

@Emosaur I make perfect sense. He abstains from momentary sexual thrills and gets eternal bliss in exchange. You are not looking at this at all correctly. Because you were never properly taught to reason - like most people under 50 today

@Emosaur Yes. Pointless. Because I am rational and you are not. Alas.

So instead of eternal happiness he should choose cheap sexual thrills for the handful of decades of his earthly life and then ...

Can you really not see which of us is thinking clearly? Willful ignorance?

@Emosaur Interesting inaccurate and rather childish speculation on your part. You must be an Atheist.

@GoodoldBob He is looking at the now.. the moment, and to hell with his spiritual side.. the bible says men are either spiritual or physical.. the physical man cares not for God or his teachings, he cares for the pleasure of his own selfishness.. hence they argue that those who are aware of their spiritual needs are forced or indoctrinated.. they have to or they will see how they live their lives is not fulfilling , they tell themselves this to feel better.. why not let the young man live how he sees fit if he feels that he is sinning then thats HIS CONNSCIENCE and not ours to judge, and if he struggles to do whats right whats it to us?.. i find people who do wrong want others to follow suit ..

LOL!!! Yet you believe in a mythical man-in-the-sky. You have a very strange idea of "rational".
