The concept of the picture is the same as the Western quote used endlessly in times of trouble....'God moves in mysterious ways !' A meaningless statement used to try and placate those questioning why so many lose their lives in natural disasters if there were a God who could have saved them!
As for the idea of random anonymous Muslim folk stating, online, their disassociation with an act carried out by others claiming to be Muslim! It's not enough!
Anytime I see news footage of (youll notice. Its ALWAYS young(supposedly) Muslim men, screaming and yelling in the street, following ANOTHER killing, another bombing, another act that deprives families of their loved ones! You know the first thought that goes through my mind?
It's not hatred! It's not anger!
It's DO YOUR PARENTS KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW ?
Do they SUPPORT what you're doing right now ?
Do THEY agree with what just happened?
And if so, why aren't THEY stood NEXT to you??
And if they DON'T, Where are they?
Where is the news coverage of ANTI extremism demonstrations??
Do they even exist?
It just seems to me that if those considered moderate (I humbly apologise for using terms like moderate, extremist, etc. because they don't reflect accurately how people FEEL. But they demonstrate two ends of the discussion!) Stood up and said, LOUDLY, accross the SAME media platforms!! YOU ARE NOT TO BE CONSIDERED AS REFLECTING THE MAJORITY!!!
Then, maybe, they too would be as clearly heard.

It's got to the stage where we HAVE to call out moderate Muslims !!!
Their silence condones the acts of those who deem terrorist acts as the will of their God !
It's all very well hiding. Or at least, washing your hands of any responsibility.
But that confrontation is the ONLY thing likely to end this ideology.
Granted, the same argument could/SHOULD have been made during the Crusades! The Balken wars in the former Yugoslavia during the '90's !
And doubtless a dozen other religiously motivated conflicts!
But the longer the moderates stay silent they give silent consent for this stuff to continue.

@strawberrymilk you are right. Not every religion is equally as bad but I think Christianity is just as bad as Islam. So I don't think calling out moderate Muslims on their religion specifically is ok when many Americans are moderate Christians which is why i made the hypocritical punching bag statement. Especially considering the my experience meeting and being friends with a moderate muslim before. If it were about the absurdity of being a moderate in a religion in general I'd agree with that but saying being a moderate muslim specifically being more unjustified just doesn't fly with me.

thinking all religions are equally bad is naiv. if you look at a religion like jainism and you see extrmists the worst thing that could happen is the person would propably starve to death by accident.

islam on the other hand was invented by a warlord for the single reason to conquer and submit enemies.

@strawberrymilk Is it? How so? Are not sure that you just believe that it is more tame because of Muslim extremists? And even if Islam were somehow worse, the point is Christianity has caused it's fair share of ignorance and pain through it's rules. Simply put if you've got no problem with moderate Christians but you've got a problem with moderate Muslims it's hypocritical.

The Quran says this, Islam is that... it seems that every two-bit reactionary apologist for western "civilization" is suddenly an expert on Islam these days, and would prefer a view of other cultures as simplified, comfortable and stupid as the one they have of their own. It says a lot more about them, and the so-called culture they purport to represent, than Muslims.

@Pickles No you don't have to. I've seen posts of people having to dissociate themselves with extremists because of people who accuse them unjustly. Also isn't the concept of this picture above to criticize moderate Muslims if they were to ya know? Not being silent.
