Everyone's meaning of the devil is different though. To Christians and all other Abrahamic religions, being another religion or lack thereof is always Satan. You always see that word just tossed around.

@SatanBurger not as such.
In Catholicism, if you study the Catechism, other religions aren't evil or the work of the devil. It's just a misguided path to God.
In fact, if you go deeply into it - Abwun (the Aramaic Christian name for God) means "Father/Mother Birther of the Cosmos".

@basilfawlty89 Yeah but people don't study it that hard, they go to church and the priest tells them what to believe. They may read a few Bible verses at church but aside from that. American Evangelicals and American abrahamic faiths aren't like that.
But I'm not saying you're wrong, the belief system itself could be interpreted wrongly for sure. Maybe it's because the only religions really in America are the ones far right distorts. That ended up being bigger than the original.

@basilfawlty89 Also not trying to argue or make anyone upset, saying a person is misguided is the same as saying there's only one right path because why would the person be misguided if abrahamic faiths didn't believe that Satan was behind everything. They must believe to an extent that the person who is of another faith is misguided by Satan or something.
Misguided, that word suggests they have it figured out or something and everyone else is wrong. In reality no one is misguided since no one has proved god does or doesn't exist. I'm religious myself but just to point that out.
