When I started dating my girlf

I wasn’t religious, but she was. It was really important to her that I join her at church. I did struggle with it for a little while, but it’s grown to be a highlight of my week. I love that we wear our best clothes and get to sing together, it really makes us closer. The readings make me think about my place in the world and what I can do to be a better person. I love the friends I have made there and how accepting everyone was of me. I know that church/religion isn’t for everyone, that’s fine with me, I think you should be who you are and think what you think.

However, there's the big difference between church and religion. Religion is often about rules, rituals, and institutions. It can feel rigid or even burdensome, and many people associate it with judgment or obligation.

Church is about community, fellowship, encouragement, and growth in faith. It’s a place where believers support one another, learn, and experience God together.

Salvation is not earned through religious rituals or attendance—it comes through faith and relationship, not a checklist of religious activity. Church is more about spiritual support and growth, than earning approval or status.

I'm glad you enjoyed going to church with your girlfriend. That's really special and I hope it will continue to bless you.
