What are churches about these days?

I'm not a Telegraph reader nor do I like where the present stream inside the Church of England is heading us towards. The collar isn't about being collared

I am a Bible believing Christian.. Not a church based Christian.. So different churches have their own eccentricities and weird teachings and doings.. That's their responsibility, what they teach and what they do.. I am responsible for what i share about the LORD and what i do in regards to His will..

What does that mean? Are church based Christians not Bible believing also?

@sree251 Well some are some are not.. Depends on what church they are going to.. But a church based Christian generally adhears to what ever the priest or pastor or preacher at their chuch teaches.. Generally the man ( or woman ) who has the mic on stage is their leader and source of all teachings and doctrines..

Of course there are some church goers who disagree with some of the preaching they hear from their church leader..

It's been my experience that the percentage of church going people i have met who have read the Bible from start to finish is low.. Many people just trust in their church leader to tell them what to believe and what to do.. To me thats a very very very dangerous policy to take.. I trust in God and what He has to say.. Not on any pastor priest or preacher.. Jesus is my Messiah not any man or woman..
@Adstar You do not attend a Bible believing church??????

You mean to say you trust only in God and what He has to say TO YOU directly, don't you? Jesus was a preacher also, an intermediary between you and God.

All Christian churches teach from the Bible of which there are many versions. As a Brit, you must know that the Church of England is one of the splinters of Christianity as taught by the Church of Rome.
@sree251 Right I have gone in detail about this on this post if you look.

I attend a Bible believing Reformed Baptist church.

Jesus and The Father and the Holy Spirit are One... Jesus is God manifested in the flesh.. Jesus was not a preacher.. Jesus did deliver the Message of God, it was His message because He was and is One with the Everlasting Father..
@Adstar You will if you search. Attending church does not make us "super Christians" it actually shows our human weakness as it shows our need for encouragement. You are not more sanctified than the Apostle Paul are you? He needed encouragement too.

Additionally fellowship with other believers is essential in our walk and assumed in the NT.

Well i have been a solid believing Christian for near 40 years without being a church member.. So i guess i do not need encouragement from other Christians.. Yeah i guess it would be nice to get encouragement from others but in the end if getting encouragement from others will force you to compromise you believing in Gospel teachings then i will walk alone with God like Noah..

As for fellowship.. I come online everyday and contribute to Christian topics on Christian forums and on places like SW which is more of a evangelical outlet for sharing the gospel with non-believers for me.. So i do get fellowship on occasions..
@Adstar

The list of encouraging stories I have heard of what God is doing in the lives of others and how I have been encouraged over a cup of coffee with over believers after the service are too numerous to list here.

You would not be compromising at all and you could also encourage other believers.

Online isn't fellowship and here is the worst- and the main Christian poster has gone off the rails posting about "self love" "you deserve" etc.
