The new Pope’s views

These are some stands of Pope Leo XIV, but we must pray for the Holy Ghost that we will see and embrace the moral theology and uphold the truthful tradition towards the true dogma and teaching of Christ on his pontificate. We can't make an opinion as he is just a few days in the pontificate, and let us wait and see what will be his pronouncement and belief while he is in reign; as of now, let us cover him with our prayers and penance.

1. Against: MISERICORDIA ET MISERA
- Misericordia et Misera is an apostolic letter by Pope Francis (2016), emphasizing mercy and pastoral care, especially after the Year of Mercy.
- Being “against” this implies Pope Leo XIV may oppose a highly pastoral, mercy-driven emphasis, possibly favoring a more traditional or doctrinal approach.

2. Ambiguous: FIDUCIA SUPPLICANS (blessing of same-sex couples)
- Fiducia Supplicans (2023) allows blessings for same-sex couples, provided they are not liturgical or seen as approval of same-sex marriage.
- Labeling it “ambiguous” suggests Pope Leo XIV may not clearly support or oppose it, possibly leaving room for varied interpretations.

3. Ambiguous: TRADITIONIS CUSTODES
- Traditionis Custodes (2021) restricts the use of the Traditional Latin Mass, aiming to unify liturgical practice under Vatican II reforms.
- "Ambiguous" here might mean Pope Leo XIV hasn't taken a clear position on traditional vs. post-Vatican II liturgy.

4. In Favor: RERUM NOVARUM
- Rerum Novarum (1891) is a foundational Catholic social encyclical on workers’ rights, fair wages, and the role of the state.
- Support suggests Pope Leo XIV aligns with social justice and labor rights teachings.

5. In Favor: SYNODALITY REFORMS
- Refers to Pope Francis's push for a more listening, decentralized Church through synods and consultation.
- Favoring this indicates support for collaborative governance in the Church.

6. In Favor: FIDUCIA SUPPLICANS (inclusive approach toward marginalized LGBTQ+)
- Suggests Pope Leo XIV supports a pastoral and inclusive stance toward LGBTQ+ Catholics, though possibly distinguishing this from doctrinal endorsement of same-sex unions.

7. In Favor: AMORIS LAETITIA
- This 2016 exhortation emphasizes family life, mercy, and allows divorced-and-remarried Catholics to receive Communion in some cases.
- Supporting it suggests a pastoral, case-by-case approach to complex moral situations.

8. In Favor: PAPAL LETTER TO AMERICAN BISHOPS ON IMMIGRATION
- Likely refers to Pope Francis’s or Vatican guidance urging U.S. bishops to be compassionate and proactive regarding immigration.
- Support shows concern for migrant rights and human dignity.

9. In Favor: LAUDATO SI
- This 2015 encyclical focuses on care for creation, climate change, and ecological justice.
- Favoring this aligns with environmental advocacy and integral ecology.

10. In Favor: VOS ESTIS LUX MUNDI
- A 2019 motu proprio on holding bishops accountable in cases of abuse.
- Supporting this means a strong stance on transparency and accountability in abuse cases.
