@Thinkerbell I guess that it's the same sort of virgin imaginary. Not literally virgins, that is. Of course, it's also not meant for suicide bombers but rather for Arab warriors coming out of the desert to attack empires that were bigger and much more complex than the then muslims. Plus those Christian armies opposing them were very skilled in the devicious skills of battle too. The Byzantines would rather assasinate the leaders first than offer single combat between champions

@Thinkerbell Tell you what, the rebel group in Syria that defeated Assad, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, is rooted in Syria's al-Qaida branch and is designated by many Western governments as a terrorist organization, though it has sought to moderate its rhetoric. Perhaps we should count our blessings now that the rhetoric is now moderate 😒
