Today was communion Sunday in Church.

I was sitting with my wife and several of her girlfriends when the elements were distributed. The elements come in a little sealed plastic cup that you peel the top foil off to reveal the bread and then peel the heavier seal off to reveal the juice. Unfortunately my wife had cancer a number of years ago and her fingers lost dexterity due to the chemo. I have gotten used to opening the little container for her. She noticed that the lady sitting beside her was having difficulty opening her container as well so my wife asked me to open it too. There were a couple of other older ladies struggling as well but they managed it on their own. I should start a communion cup opening service for all those who can't get their fingers to work.

We only did that at church during the pandemic. We all hated it, We are back to normal for a while now.
At our church that is how communion is done too.

Bit different to how communion is done in the former Anglican church I go to when visiting relatives 😅

@BritishFailedAesthetic In another church I pastored I would call the people to the communion table for a piece of bread I had broken from the loaf and hand them the one cup filled with wine. Something special about it being in common and at a central place in the church. I was a bit disappointed as the official today (not me) didn't invoke the Body of Christ or the Blood of Christ as we partook of the elements. He is an elderly man so either he forgot or else he didn't do this when he was pastoring churches in Brazil.

I prefer communion on the tongue whilst kneeling, even if I have to travel far to find a Latin Mass.

@Musicman I would like to accept your compliment but I know that there is no one good but God.

@FreestyleArt Yeah these little cups are a real pain for those who have dexterity issues. Too small and too easy to open the second part first which only makes opening the first part all that more difficult. I much prefer to sip from a real cup and eat a piece of real bread.
