I feel uncomfortable writing my name on my tithes envelope. Do you think it is okay to tithe anonymously?

Respect post.
I don't do that either. All that matters is my tithe to God. He knows who gave it. ❤🤗

I am not a Christian, so talking from a economic point of view, never give cash as it can be misused and can go unaccounted. Go for cashless payment, so the money is accounted for and serves the purpose.

Whether you can write your name, that depends on whether a register is maintained or name of donor mentioned while opening all envelopes.

Of course however if you're tracking your donations, that's ok . If you are not and you're dropping cash in the envelope, you should write your name. All Parishes should have a record of your yearly gifting for tax purposes.

Cash or check folded. It is a tax write off if you do that

@Applepiedom wtf cool!

@DeluxedEdition if cash,only 500$ can be declared,if check or some way they can put it in your name,you can declare all you contribute.

I think the main reason for writing your name is so that your church can give you a document at the end of the year stating your donations , so you can use that as a tax deduction if you wish.

If you are willing to forgo that, then there is no reason not to donate anonymously.

(Unless you go to a church where you might get a nagging letter from the pastor or the finance committee chair if there is no record of your contributing anything!)
