I'm not. My father was. He wasn't a very good Baptist, though. He believed in love, not judgement.

@Mamapolo2016 is that what rhey mostly believe..... we are all to be judged?
@Justme264 Most organized religions teach certain rituals and behaviors are essential to properly worship. That's how they distinguish themselves as 'right.'

I wasn't speaking of the judgement of God, but of the judgement of any sect of believers versus any other person or sect.

Personally I believe the mission should be to embrace, not to build fences.

Which is why I remain a believer but am not religious.
@Justme264 God said hisself, in His Word, that every one of us will face the judgment, but it's not as you would expect. Unless you're really familiar with the bible, you wouldn't understand the difference between the two judgments.

Jesus didn't come into the world to condemn the world but to save it and there's no condemnation to those who have had their sins forgiven and erased by the blood of Jesus. Sin is the only thing that condemns people, not God. He came to save us and he's not willing that any should perish. Jesus came to save us from the condemnation that sin placed on us.

@LadyGrace It's the delighted fascination of so many 'religious' with the sins of others while being blissfully blind about their own that I object to.

The haughty judgment of the thoroughly churched.

Please don't throw quotations at me.

I love God in my own way.

@LadyGrace It is wonderful that you have interpreted this passage to ensure you are saved:)
@Zeusdelight I can't tell if you are being facetious or not haha in your statement. Really don't know what you meant by that. I'm secure in my faith, not doubting it, if that's what you're thinking.
@Mamapolo2016 I have no idea what you're talking about or referring to. I was answering JustMe. I didn't judge nor address you, that I can see here. 🤔

@LadyGrace And yet Jesus chose a bloke who denied him three times to lead his Church after He was gone.
@Zeusdelight Unless you're a perfect, flawless person, I wouldn't knock Peter. He was a regular guy, like anyone else. At least he was humble, and his profession, a fisherman. There was nothing special nor outstanding about Peter, and that’s probably why Jesus chose him to be one of his apostles, as Peter was humble. Any of us can be Peter. Jesus liked Peter because despite his flaws, he had faith in Jesus. He trusted Jesus. Sure Peter even had doubts. Don't we all at times. When his life was threatened, yes, Peter got scared at that moment, and denied Christ three times, after His arrest. That’s what we probably would have done, too. We can all relate to Peter.

@LadyGrace I was not knocking Peter. He and Thomas are the apostles I most relate to.

I worry about anyone who says that they are secure in their Faith. Security and certainty are elements of non-growth that are the most insidious.
@Zeusdelight That's funny because I worry about people who knock things in the Bible and people they don't know and then claim things they don't really believe in. A sure sign of insecurity and non-growth.

@LadyGrace WoW, you like making things personal don't you? Is that the evidence of the spirit of God within you?
