Then understanding that it was never a separation of church and state it was that the state was not to determine the religion of the people

@dale74 "Then understanding that it was never a separation of church and state" Are you functionally retarded? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"
Agent86 · 56-60, M
@KeanuChrist Exactly, the federal government shall not endorse any one religion over the other as the official religion of the entire country. Nothing states that government can't be associated with religion or God. Examine the writings of the founding fathers. It is easy to tell from their words what they meant.

@Agent86 very true and this is why so many youth are confused. Changing words slightly changes the meaning.

@dale74 Atheist groups put a spin on it. In time a good constitutional lawyer will take care of this matter.
KeanuChrist · 26-30, M
@Agent86 If anyone is spinning it it's you guys. Separation of Church and State does mean that the government can't be associated with a certain religion, now that doesn't mean a politician can't go to church, but it does mean the government can't put up the ten commandments or the five pillars of islam on government property like court houses and shit.

@KeanuChrist Time will tell as new cases come before the United States Supreme Court constantly.
