I don't think Abrahamic religions are as deep as eastern ones.

They sound like children's stories or the Illiad.

Now compare that with the deep ideas of buddhism involving living in the present moment. Avoiding the second arrow of unhappiness. Being able to change your perspective of everything that causes unhappiness through breathing concentration exercises to clear your mind and reevaluate.

It's like the difference between saying a stone fell because what goes up must go down vs using calculus to explain how the stone falls by integration of the formula for acceleration with a value of 9.81 m/s.

Just even without going deep into the reasons for or against the existence of gods, at face value Abrahamic religions seem entirely too simplistic.

Buddhism is also full of nonsense ideas like reincarnation specifically but it is just far far more dense and more connected to everyday existence than Abrahamic religions.

It's amazing to me all my life that people over 30 believe in such nonsense.

Like really? They never wondered about the plot holes in their religious texts? They never looked for them? They never asked why over and over again till they got to the end?

All religions have huge plot holes, but there is much more secular philosophy in Buddhism and Jainism than in Islam or the Christian religions. It kinda makes sense since Abrahamic religions tend to put much more of an emphasis on the afterlife, so there is going to be less philosophy based around achieving peace in this life.
