In the biblical story of "the rich man and Lazarus" how did the rich man recognize Abraham?

I wonder how he could recognize Abraham. He's on fire in the underworld and looks across the void and sees Lazarus and somehow knows that it's Abraham that Lazarus is standing with. Jesus never says how he knew Abraham, but it makes no sense to me that he was able to recognize him. They didn't live in the same time period, and there definitely wasn't any pictures of him. Maybe there was paintings but since the bible never describes his appearance, how would anyone that didn't know Abraham personally know what he looked like? Maybe in hell you know everything about everyone that you see, idk it's a mystery lol. Or maybe this is just evidence that this wasn't a real story. Just another parable told by Jesus to show that money isn't everything.

It's a parable. The details are only enough to tell you that haves ought to treat have-nots better, which interweaves this with stewardship teachings, the Good Samaritan, etc.

The messages converge and support each other.

The Jews were told over and over:

Take care of
the widow,
the orphan,
and
the sojourner in your midst.

It was not new or news.
