JSul3 @Adstar Why did the Almighty flood the world, wiping out mankind except for Noah and a few family members?
Well the answer is in the scriptures.. What was happening before the great flood? have you read the Bible?
(Genesis 6:4) "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the
sons of God came in unto
the daughters of men, and they b
are children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
So the sons of God ( Angels ) can down to earth and had sexual relations with human woman and they had hybrid human offspring that where evil.. A lot of the pagan ""gods"" mighty men of old like herculies and others like him where most likely hybrid offspring of the angels / human relations..
Here in Job w see again the angels being identified as the sons of God, Lucifer being now called satan was one of them..
(Job 1:6-7) "¶ Now there was a day when the
sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and
Satan came also among them. {7} And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said,
From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."
So the angels had access to the world at the time and could travel between hearth and heaven and walk upon the earth.. Later we see that God imprisoned these angels in the bottomless pit for their transgressions against His will..
(Jude 1:6) "And
the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."
They have a leading angel down in the bottomless pit..
(Revelation 9:11) "And they had a king over them, which is
the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon."
So in genesis the only people who had not been contaminated by the angels where Noah and His family.. So God choose to wipe out the hybrids by using a great flood, to save the human race from virtual extinction..
Why did he turn a woman into a pillar of salt?
To make an example of her to the people.. She was told by the Angel messengers not to look back at Sodom as it was being destroyed.. But she decided to look back.. Disobeying Gods will leads to death.. That is the message to us from the woman who turned into salt..
If he's all powerful why were mass murders like the Holocaust, and wars that killed millions of people, and children born with terrible things like cancer and cystic fibrosis allowed? Why didn't he step in?
Suffering happens in the world and this indicates to us the sabotaged state of existence we are living in.. If a person starts to feel physical pain it is a warning sign that something is wrong with them and they will seek the assistance of a Doctor if they are smart.. Same with this world, all the suffering is a sign that our current form of existence is not perfect and so we seek God for a solution..
And God does intervene when it serves His will to do so.. God has intervened in my life and has intervened in other peoples lives through me on occasions.. How knows how many ties this world in recent times has been at the door of nuclear destruction and God has intervened to keep it from happening so as to continue this existence until all the people who will be saved accept Jesus as LORD and their Redeemer..
