Have any of you cared about achieving enlightenment?

Probably not. I traveled homeless all over the country for starters

A lot of people look for enlightenment but neglect to look for Jesus and that's where our source of truth, salvation, and help come from; not from philosophies of the world.

@GhettoCowboy11 Truth etc
@DanielsASJ you didn't mention where you got that knowledge and why it's important

@LadyGrace Nothing is important besides freedom
@GhettoCowboy11 Jesus promised his followers the Holy Spirit, who would guide them into all truth (John 16:13). That enlightenment is not a purely intellectual pursuit, but involves a work of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life. It is God that gives wisdom and enlightenment and that comes from the Holy Spirit, which one receives upon inviting Jesus into their heart and life as Savior. The Bible says that's the only way. We are not wise in our own selves and in our own eyes. Wisdom comes from the Lord.

James 1:5-6 - "If any of you lacks wisdom (knowledge), let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Enlightenment, apart from and without a Savior, does not attain eternal life in heaven. God said so in His Word. God is The Giver of enlightenment.

@LadyGrace Dude. You're lost
@GhettoCowboy11 Freedom without salvation is nothing. Freedom is not more important than Truth, and the truth sets one free. Always. Do not call me dude. Thank you. Speak to me respectfully as I speak to you.

@LadyGrace You're not enlightened if you're a Christian period. Jesus isn't everyone's superhero
@GhettoCowboy11 I know he's not everyone's superhero. No problem with that. We're speaking about enlightenment. But God is definitely one that the Bible says we shall all stand before, in the end. You cannot assume I'm not enlightened, if I'm a Christian (and I am). God's Word says any who come to him are enlightened by the Holy Spirit of truth. And yes it comes from experience after one has received salvation and is guided by the Holy Spirit who gives enlightenment.

It's understandable that some might see "enlightenment" as in Eastern religions and philosophies, like Buddhism. However, it's inaccurate to say that a Christian cannot be enlightened.

Spiritual enlightenment is a journey of deepening one's relationship with God. It's a process of inner transformation that involves becoming more like Jesus Christ through love, grace, prayer, and spiritual growth.

This transformation is guided by the Holy Spirit, enabling believers to move away from sin and toward a life of purpose and peace.

Enlightenment is about coming into the light of God's truth and love, recognizing the role of Jesus Christ, and walking in His footsteps.

It's a process of spiritual awakening where believers discover God's presence and truth through prayer, Scripture, and transformation.
