daydeeo if the word God is used as a proper noun then it is capitalized. If it is a common noun it is not. A common noun refers to a general category of people places or things while a proper noun refers to a specific named individual within that category. So it depends on its reference as a common or proper noun. In my example of its use I refer to god as one of many gods within a category. Therefore it is not capitalized.
But I actually reference god within a different understanding. Not as an entity specific within its name or among many. Is it a reference to an understanding of life. God is simply an individuals understanding of life among many understandings of life. Therefore it is a common noun that is not capitalized.
