Religion is a hard thing to talk about because it a very touchy subject I don't and I don't think I ever have actually have believed in any bigger or greater power I feel like it's been came more of a escape goat or a excuse to explain bad things in the world then a way of life or beliefs

SW-User
@PumpkinSpice What's a recap goat?
PumpkinSpice · 16-17, F
@SW-User sorry ment escape goat 🤣
BohemianBabe · M
That should be the case, but unfortunately a lot of people still need to tell themselves there's a god up there.

@BohemianBabe I should point out it depends on your definition of God. We (Zoroastrians) don't believe in a personal, omnipotent, omniscient God. God is rather the force of knowledge and consciousness that connects is all.
BohemianBabe · M
@basilfawlty89 That's a common belief in a lot of European Occultism. The idea of a universal consciousness.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@BohemianBabe it's probably due to Proto-Indo-European influence.

The word magical play throughout decades though the word magic has been associated with God by non-believers.
There was a time when man's science was considered magic.
The Creator of the universe is the ultimate scientist....... Everything that God has done is under what man calls science.
I'm surprised you left out sky Daddy magical sky Daddy.
Funny how all the cultures speak of a supernatural entity from the sky that created the heavens and the Earth.
Funny that even these days presidents, high ranking military personnel, professors, law enforcement officers, astronauts, airplane pilots, and regular citizens, doctors, lawyers, world wide have seen extra terrestrial crafts flying around in the air defying what man has established as the laws gravity _ laws of all physics - and they defy space and time. Which man is beginning to realize time is an illusion and reality may just not be what we think it is (Einstein).

You see The entity we call God, nor the entities we call Angels, nor the entity we call the devil, are not born on Earth - not from the Earth but or somewhere from out there in some universe - man can only see 5% of space....... They have always been here. Call him magic if you want call him sky daddy whatever they're there and the ancients called them Gods because of their supernatural capability...... And if whenever reads of some of the things these entities do in this day and age you would understand why. Oh but maybe you think they're magical thickness of people's imagination too.

I always felt religion should be just a personal journey, no more or less. When religion becomes that which controls a person's course in life then it just becomes unethical to me.
I wrote a piece a few years ago on my thoughts about this in the broader scope of the phenomenon known as "tribalism".

Maybe someday I'll clean it up and post it here.

@Samek Having a publicly available and provable answer is preferable to everyone just winging it on their own, but I get the need for each person to decide.

@SW-User As far as evolution to spiritual beliefs, I reckon that falls into the realm of philosophy. Most religions started as culturally relevant stories that a populace resonated with, full of context and guidance. I reckon any future religions will be shaped by their cultures and history. To nail anything definitive would mean to know the answers to existence and after life; tantamount to seeing the face of god.

SW-User
@Samek All of the answers we need to correctly establish cause and effect are possible to know. This doesn't make us anything more than sufficiently knowledgeable.

Our science is now so advanced that we can control the world to the extent that our works are indestinguishable from magic. We dont need god to explain the physical world. But some of us require him as a psychological crutch, or to accept responsibility for us when we cant..😷

It is the dawning of the age of Aquarius. Not only a song but a horoscopic movement in the Stars that predicted a decline in religious beliefs

@BEENOV Good song.
