I agree with you.
Those people have missed the kernel of the "Good News"--God wants relationship, not judgment

@Blazer420 The notion of smocks & lyres & singing choruses forever sounds...boring and not heaven

@SomeMichGuy yea I donno about all that either. They say not to be absorbed in earthly wealth, but that we'll all have huge mansions in heaven. Doesn't make sense to me

@Blazer420 I think we and the lord are the riches.

Yes, because i trust in the judgement of the LORD,, One either has Faith in the LORD or they don't and No one can please the LORD without Faith..

@Adstar God is so good and holy that he can create people only to torture them forever, and it's a good thing cause God only does good things. Just like God drowning hundreds of innocent animals during the flood. Sounds like a mean/bad thing to do, but since God did it it's not bad or mean at all
The issue is you don't see how holy God is and how significant sin is.

@BritishFailedAesthetic God is so holy that he has the power to do things we would consider "a bad thing to do" or "mean", but in reality they're holy and good because of reasons that are beyond our comprehension. And that's what some people claim faith is.
But to me faith is believing that God is real and is helping and protecting us, even though we can't physically see, feel, or hear him. (We'll I suppose some people say they do, but it's not something that they recorded and have solid evidence of)
