An idea I have about death

Well, I think when we die our soul sleeps and we know nothing of what is taking place here, on earth. Not a heaven or a hell as of yet, just a place of rest. When God decides we are done with this earth and he returns, the dead in christ rise from their first to be with Jesus and then those who don't care for God. Those who did not choose God go through judgment. I dont think there is a judgement per se for those who have been forgiven of their sins as there is nothing to judge. Those who did not choose christ are given one last chance to make a choice, as God doesn't want anyone in heaven who doesn't want to be there. Then evil is destroyed and the rest of us live out eternity with our God.

@nonsensiclesnail I do too, it's interesting to hear others opinions on the matter. I like your idea too, makes sense to me and is biblical to an extent. Only thing I'd say that isn't is the story of Lazarus and the Rich man, since in that story they go to the afterlife right away. But to be honest I don't think that's a real story lol it's crazy to me to think that the people in torment to be able to see the people who are in comfort, and vice versa, like this story/parable say lol.
I like your idea though cause it doesn't include the evil being tortured forever and ever. They just cease to exist, and that's if the reject Christ to his face and fully know the consequences of doing so. I can get behind that idea/theory.

@Blazer420 I think the story of the rise man and lazerous is a parable about the jews and teh gentiles. nothing literal. You know even the Jews, back in the day, did not believe they went to heaven when they died. And I know most don't agree with this. but our reward comes when God comes to collect his people, not when we die. But then I also don't believe people are tormented in hell. I think hell is the presence of Gods glory on those who choose to not receive it. They will one day be destroyed with his holy fire, and later, satan himself , after the 1000 years alone on earth with no one to torment.
But I know, it is all based on our interpretations of what we read. We will always have different ideas. That keeps things interesting.
