what do you know about the jesuit catholics

[c=BF0080]i am a roman catholic, i know next to nothing about the jesuits, do you know more?[/c]
I don't know much but here's what I have (only about modern jesuits; I don't know their history). They are a monastic order, like benedictines, dominicans, franciscans, etc. I think this entails vows of poverty and service.

Unlike most monks, jesuits also become fully ordained as priests; I don't know why. They pursue education, and found educational institutions, and often teach in them, which means they often get advanced degrees.

Here's a list of jesuit founded colleges in the US

Many have high schools associated. Many have gone sorta mainstream and are co-ed and not all professors are jesuits.

I happen to know a jesuit lawyer, who mostly serves the poor. He's a great guy.

@ElwoodBlues thanks for your information.
Wait... if you're a catholic, why is your username KnightTemplar? The templars were literally denounced by the church as heretics!!
