The Transformation of Matter to Mankind and the World
SANTORINO
(July 4, 1954)
“One cannot create something out of nothing. The Almighty
had at His disposal only the formless, lifeless, immobile matter,
and His living spirit, and nothing else. There was absolutely nothing else in the world, if altogether it could have been called a world. Can you imagine the Almighty's dreadful, unbearable situation and loneliness in this lifeless, endless and formless, empty world? He was alone, completely alone, without any friends, without enemies. His living spirit could not endure that, and He
smashed the silence and immobility. He perturbed the matter and,
having given it the so-called laws of physics, made it form and
able to move. Yet, no matter what form the matter assumed, it
remained the very same matter.
This matter had to be spiritualized
with the living, intelligent, immortal spirit. Not only did it have to
be set in motion and subjected to certain laws, but it had to be
transformed as well.
“In order not to be alone, The Almighty created spirits from
His spirit, the so-called original spirits the chief spirits. As you
have been told already, these chief spirits did not rescue the
Almighty from loneliness, for they were the very same Almighty,
split into several parts. The Almighty searched long to find the
means of escaping from this tragic situation. Finally He found it:
He decided to create spirits and to join these spirits, for a definite
and different time, with beings created from matter and capable of
life. In this manner the spirits came under the influence of matter
and matter under the influence of spirit. Yet prior to all of that, the
Almighty had to create the living matter, which you know as the
plant and animal kingdom.
In order not to repeat Himself everywhere and always, and not to make His labor of creation uninteresting and meaningless, He transformed matter into such a state
that, under the influence of certain laws of physics, it could develop further and transform by itself should you follow the development of plants and animals on your Earth, you will clearly see
how this task occurs and succeeds. The lifeless matter is pure matter, but the living matter is no longer pure matter—it has the
Almighty's spirit blended within certain proportions.
That is not the same as it is with man. In his being too, The Almighty is blended, to some extent, yet in addition to that man has been given a reignsoul, that is, an Almighty's spirit created separately, which incarnates in man for a time. This spirit influences the material side of
man's being, and obviously, is himself influenced by it as well. This
spirit, though-this soul-is not born at the same time as is man, and
does not die at the same time with him. Thus, this soul, this spirit,
returns to Heaven, but he is no longer exactly the same spirit, for
he has already acquired something foreign, something new.
The body (matter) through instinct alone cannot develop or
create. This is shown clearly in the animal kingdom. Animals have
survived since creation, and they possess no ability to change their
world, or at least their immediate environment. It is also shown
that as man's body developed so did his cognition. Men as beasts
developed into human beings, but dogs are still dogs. Here the reason is shown why man can design, create, and develop his world.
The spirit is incarnated in the human body and with the combination of spirit and matter the human has the power to change, develop, and think, since his brain has been spiritualized by the
Almighty to do just that. It is also the reason why mankind has
always believed in some omniscient and omnipresent life form,
even in his primitive state; otherwise, how did he become so cognizant of the fact that his religious beliefs were a misinterpretation
of his ancestor's understanding? In other words, why did his religious convictions change as he and the world grew?
Jesus, Buddha, and Confucius did not contrive an influence
over the people through political or military power, so why is it
that what they taught has influenced the cognition of mankind?
Was it because mankind was aware of their coming and therefore
commanded to obey and believe their teachings? Did mankind just
simply become dissatisfied with his previous beliefs and teachings,
thereby giving way to men with new and radical viewpoints?
It is my opinion, after considerable contemplation of these
Messages, that the spirit in man is attempting to carry out its
responsibility and obligation; that is, to help create and lead the
ideal world.
