This is where you and I become polar opposites. I detest anything that even smacks of "Christianity" I believe it promotes hatred starting with the very young. It has destroyed entire families from the extremist's points of view.Religion has been the cause of death than all the wars put together.
It made slaves of Native Americans, stole their lands and forced them to adopt Christian names. It allowed Catholic Missionaries the power to ban traditional such as the famous Sun Dance. Forced the Mexicans to build beautiful Missions many of which remain standing. Stole the states of California, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. And this is all just for starters. The church has been the worst curse for all native people in the USA.

@Grateful4you it’s a very, very big church with many members, such as me… my friend. Painting with big brushes is usually a mistake I have normally found. I love you either way, though. And although I may respectfully disagree with some of what you’ve written, I 💯 agree with your freedom to have that position.
I just follow my own Jesus.

@JustGoneNow One thing I failed to mention. I was great friends with Sister Rose Margaret at Mount Saint Marys of Los Angeles Ca. Thg sisters lived in the mansion. This estate had once belonged to the oil- rich Doheny family. They were rich not only in money but tawdry scandal as well. There was a lot of sexual drama, a murder on the estate for good measure..
Mrs.Doheney loved the crystal domed, mosaic which was huge and beautiful, it had been one of the tourist attractions at the Seattle Worlds fair. She had the dome dis-assembled and brought to Los Angeles where it was pieced back together and placed over the ballroom ceiling and admired by hundreds of guests each year. While the mansion was gorgeous, the grounds were equally awesome with plants and trees imported from all over the world.
We did interior painting of several rooms for sister, since she had no money to pay us, she gave us these incredible costumes donated to the church from MGM studio's, the costumes were the designs of Miss Edith Head, brilliant colors, sequined satin these had been made for a number of pirate movies and were quite spectacular.
I've indeed had an interesting life. Thats for sure!

@Grateful4you QUESTIONS ABOUT GOD
SANTORlNO
(January 6, 1967)
“Messengers to humanity on Earth, I come to you in the
assignment of the Creator and guide of the world, and of the God
of your galaxy, in order to convey to you the decisions of the High
Rulers.
“The twentieth century draws to a close. Almost two thousand
years have passed since Christ brought God's faith to Earth.
Millions of years had to pass before humanity became capable of
accepting the new true faith.
“Having originated along with the other animals, man did not
differ from them for a long time. Yet, once he began to differ, the
habits of animals still controlled him. He had furiously fought the
other animals for his place on Earth. Many of them, much
stronger than he, attempted to destroy man, but man won. Thanks
to his intellect, he became the strongest animal on Earth.
“Initially, he invented gods for himself, because he needed a
master and a guide. He considered God as someone still higher
than his ruler. He called God his master and king. One God, however, was not enough for him: not only did he fill the Heaven with
gods, but the earth and sea as well. They were called gods, but
their spiritual qualities were the same as those of people. They
were merely mightier than people.
“Humanity developed slowly. The time came to proclaim the
meaning of the true God, who He was, what He wanted from man,
and what man must be like. Prophets, people with highly gifted
spirits, [incarnated in human bodies] came to people. The Ten
Commandments came into existence; ten laws which express the
will of God. These laws commanded what man must and must not
do, yet these had been given to a man who had barely stood up
firmly on his own two feet, one who still had a lot to learn and
understand, as well as learn how to improve life. Thus humanity
received God's highest envoy, sent to proclaim to humanity its
highest law, the law of love. It is not force, the sword, or heroism
that can lead man to a true, happy life on Earth.
“The words of Christ were simple and understandable to
everyone. He brought love to man, and a happy future dependent
on it. Man crucified Him, though, and continues to crucify for over
a thousand years. The road of the Christian faith was a difficult
one, because it was difficult for man to change his nature, which
was formed over hundreds of thousands of years through constant
battles and wars.
“The apostles were replaced by their successors, the disciples,
and the disciples by other successors. The trade of priesthood
developed. Yes, it was a trade! They wanted to rule and guide
humanity, as it would be better for themselves personally. They
enacted their own laws. Next to God and His angels, they placed
the King of Hell, Satan, with His numerous legions of devils. They
made the devil mightier than God. Since the words of Christ did
not allow them to act as they were, they used a foreign language
that no one understood in order to keep the words of Christ from
the people.
“The English burned at the stake the first man who dared to
translate the Bible into a language that was understandable to
everyone.” [William Tyndale in 1536]
28 Sidney R. Smith

“In order to save people from the power of the devil, the
priests themselves became more horrible than the imagined devil.
In order to protect God, they tortured people mercilessly and
burned them at the stake. That sounds unbelievable, but that's the
way it was.
“In lieu of Christ's teachings, they introduced innumerable
prayers in the church, even though Christ insisted that this not be
done. They implemented the confession of sins, and took money for
that. They built palaces for themselves, while people lived in hovels. They held lavish banquets, while others were dying of starvation. They also tried to halt the development of sciences.
“You will claim that those were delusions: I, however, will say
that it was a crime and the betrayal of Christ.
“The road of humanity is unstoppable, though. Printing of the
Book of Holy Scriptures in a language understandable to people
and its reading in churches had to be permitted. The church lost its
secular power, and began to approach the demands of Christ's
teachings.
