SOON TO BE WORLD RELIGION DAY

WORLD RELIGION DAY this is a good day to find common ground.

Every year on the third Sunday in January, people from all cultures and backgrounds come together World Religion Day. The day celebrates the commonality of the major faiths of the world.
It may surprise you to know that there are over 4,000 recognized religions in the world. These religions consist of churches, congregations, faith groups, tribes, cultures, and movements. Even though there are so many, three-quarters of the world’s population practice one of the five major religions. These include:

Buddhism
Christianity
Hinduism
Islam
Judaism
most religions have their own version of the “Golden Rule.” This is the belief that it is good to treat others as you want to be treated. Along with finding common ground, this day seeks to promote inter-faith understanding and harmony.

This is a prophecy regarding the end of times, where the great prostitute is a symbol for false religion. While I do not think of anyone as my enemy simply because they have a different religion, I still wouldn't become all cutesy and friendly with other religions. There's a reason why I have my religion and do not practice theirs, I don't try to sugarcoat it.

@MartinTheFirst so what religion are you..?
@MartinTheFirst No one is asking you to convert, just to tolerate other religions. As a member of a historically persecuted denomination, I would think you’d understand that.
@markansas He’s JW.
@LeopoldBloom ok that explains a lot..

@LeopoldBloom What does tolerate mean? It's a hostile form of acceptance. It means that you do not like the other group, but you will merely accept their existence because you have no other choice. I'm just straight up about the fact that I do not like other religions, but I will give any person the respect they deserve. Actually got this perspective on it from a muslim teacher.

^ This is what "tolerance" leads to, passive aggressive judgment of an individual based on their belonging to a certain group
@MartinTheFirst well here is a little info on me if it helps.. i was a latter day saint at one time a member of the Priesthood.
so i understand.. that was not meant to be passive aggressive . just i do understand.. people need to see both sides to understand one another . and i try to..
Priesthood denotes elements of both power and authority. The priesthood includes the power Jesus gave his apostles to perform miracles such as the casting out of devils and the healing of sick (Luke 9:1). Latter Day Saints believe that the Biblical miracles performed by prophets and apostles were performed by the power of priesthood, including the miracles of Jesus, who holds all of the keys of the priesthood. . now ya know just a little bit more of me.. mark
@MartinTheFirst Exactly. Tolerance means you put up with people and let them do their thing even if you disapprove of them. Of course, tolerance has to go both ways. I'm under no obligation to tolerate intolerant people.

@LeopoldBloom I don't need your tolerance :P
@MartinTheFirst Yeah, you do. Remember that the JWs were in the same camps as the Jews in WWII.
