What's the point?

If only 144,024 people from over all of time will be allowed into heaven then what's the point of being in any religion. It's futile. Winning the lottery has better odds. Basically it's saying that there is no heaven after life so make the world you're living in now as good as possible for yourself and others. It's the only heaven you'll ever see.

The 144000 are only the once that come after the rapture. There'd be a whole lot more go into heaven including those that remained behind and went through the tribulation and were slain for not taking the mark of the beast
