Human timeline of mythology and religion

It is interesting to see where all these myths originated from. I find it odd that anyone could believe that only one of these is correct, especially the ones further down that are just borrowing and repurposing things from earlier beliefs.

We don't need mythology or religion. Neither, will get any of us to heaven. Religion is nothing but man-made philosophy. Did religion die on the cross to save us from our sins? No. But Jesus did. Man has the mistaken idea that he can save himself from his own sins. Also that he has the power and authority to set the standard of salvation FOR God. He is going to be sadly mistaken when he faces God in eternity. We are all in the same boat. We all need a Savior, who can forgive us our sins. Without Jesus, our sins will keep us separated from God the Father in heaven. No one needs religion. What they do need is a relationship with their Father in Heaven. That's what God said, not man. I think we would be foolish to ignore that. God didn't leave us to guess how to get to heaven. He approved and appointed Jesus as our only Mediator and Savior. Surely man is not stupid enough to think he can save himself from his own sins. But then there are always those who will mock God and risk losing their own soul.

"For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul?" Mark 8:36

If believing that makes you a better person, I’m happy for you. I just hope you don’t use it to belittle or harass others.

I do feel bad that you feel like you need a savior or that you’re less than just for simply existing. @LadyGrace
@Imsleepy It's not about making anyone feel better. God has a standard set for salvation. You'll see that if you read the Bible. Don't put words in my mouth, or feel bad for me. I know where I'm going, thanks to the Word of God and Jesus' great sacrifice on the cross to save all in the world, not just some. You're the only one saying that I feel less than, simply for existing. I don't feel that way at all. After all the Lord has done so much for me, and even saved my daughter from dying, I cannot love or praise Him enough. What you do is up to you, but Jesus told all who love Him, to go into the world and tell them about the saving Grace of God, since He finished His mission and is with His Father in heaven, so we would know and not have to guess how to get to heaven. Whether they accept what Jesus said or not, is up to them. But when they face Him in eternity, they won't be able to say no one told them. No one is smarter nor wiser than God.

I’ve read through the Bible, multiple times. It was what led me to dismiss it entirely. You’ve been deceived, unfortunately. I definitely didn’t put words in your mouth, though. I’m glad your daughter survived whatever it was that she experienced. @LadyGrace
@Imsleepy If you read through the Bible several times, then how do you think people get to heaven without Jesus?
Imsleepy · 31-35
I don’t believe that anyone goes to heaven. At least not a heaven like it is described in the Bible. @LadyGrace
@Imsleepy Why? God is perfect. Incapable of sin, therfore, incapable of lying. What about your soul? You wouldn't be alive without it. It's going to go one of two places when you die. That's the reason God gave us His Word, so that we wouldn't have to guess what happens to us after we die and how to get to heaven, so wouldn't it make sense to prepare for that?
Imsleepy · 31-35
Why don’t I believe? Well, it doesn’t make sense in the way it was described. A place of no grief, pain or sorrow? That can’t exist, especially if a hell as described exist. One could not be without sorrow in heaven knowing they had loved ones suffering in hell. Not to mention the problems associated with the illusion of free will. Free will and an omniscient creator isn’t possible. @LadyGrace
@Imsleepy Anything is possible with God. Why would you believe God didn't tell us the truth? In the beginning, everything was perfect. There was no sin in God's world until Adam and Eve decided they knew better than God. It was they that introduced sin into the world. And it was Jesus who came to rescue us from our sins. In heaven, there is no sin so it will be a perfect world as before. There is no sorrow or sadness or death or anything, like here. Heaven is the perfect place that God intended for us to have in the first place. No sin nor sorrow will be there. But we will see our loved ones there that went to heaven. The others we will not remember. Free Will means that God doesn't make our choices for us. Not even salvation. That is an individual choice and if someone rejects Christ and wants no part of his salvation, that is their choice not Gods. God will honor their decision. But it is their sins that condemn them to hell. Not God. He is not willing that any perish. John 3:16, 17.
@Imsleepy it wasn't fair that Jesus had to die on the cross to save us from our sins, either, but he did. In fact, He volunteered, because that's how much he loves us and wanted to save us from the condemnation sin placed on us. The salvation that Jesus offers, is our security that we will live in the place He has prepared for us in heaven. That way we don't have to guess where we'll end up. I would be pretty scary to die and not know where you're going, but many don't. But Jesus keeps his promise to forgive us our sins so that we can live in heaven with him. He didn't die and suffer on the cross for nothing.

If god knows everything, it knows where every soul will end up before it is created. There is no free will involved. If god erases your memory of your loved ones that are in hell, you aren’t yourself and again you don’t have free will. Also, in the story, Jesus didn’t sacrifice anything. A sacrifice would have been him remaining dead. Furthermore, in this story, god created sin in the first place, so all sin comes from god. When you look at the Bible rationally it simply does not hold up. @LadyGrace
@Imsleepy Just because of God knows something doesn't mean we're predestined or that he made that choice for us. It just means that since he is all-knowing, he naturally knows as God, what the outcome was. God doesn't predestine anyone. Each person on Earth has that choice to make of where they want to spend eternity.

Why would God create sin just so he could die on the cross to save us from our sins? That's what doesn't make sense and that's not what happened. God did not create sin. He is pure and holy so why would he create sin? Makes no sense at all. Instead, the Bible says that sin was found in our character. We make the choices. Not God.

I thank God that I won't know who went to hell. Spiritual things cannot be looked at rationally because they are spiritual and supernatural, as in miracles, and God said not to lean to our own understanding because we will be wrong in assuming things about God. That's why he gave us His Word. And the Word of God cannot be deciphered, the Bible says, unless you are "born-again". That's when we ask Jesus to forgive us our sins and then he sends the Holy Spirit to dwell in us as a guide and help, so that we can understand the things of the Spirit, as the Holy Spirit reveals them to us. God never told us we would understand every single thing in the bible, but without it, man would be lost forever and surely everyone would be in hell. But he did tell us the most important thing, and that is how to be saved.
