Mormon church "LDS Charities" called out in new report for exaggerating aid to refugees by up to 5,000X, overstating volunteerism by 5X, and funneling humanitarian donations through Australia to dodge taxes.

See this excellent new report, which shows just how deceptive current Mormon leaders are, using slippery marketing so they can do less and take credit for more. About as hypocritical as it gets, from a church with "ungodly" amounts ($150+ billion) of investments squirreled away.
They must have just assumed everyone would look at the pretty pictures and praise the effort (look! humanitarian aid!), and not imagined people would bother interrogating the numbers.
To top it all off, as member donations begin drying up, the church quietly modified its annual charitable giving report in 2021 to throw in all kinds of members-serving-members data, to inflate the overall numbers and leave unsuspecting readers with impression that the Mormons church is suddenly becoming generous. It isn't, still the same tight-fisted secretive organization that makes everything into an "us vs them" conflict.
