@markansas Here is a clue. Galatians 1:8 "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!" So what was Joseph Smith listening to when he received his revelations? AN ANGEL! Hmmm Oh one other point. What was the name of the angel that revealed the variant gospel to Joseph Smith? Moroni! Care to guess what the word Moroni means? It means "The Stupids". There are so many glaring errors in the Book of Mormon as to make it little more than a comic book. Here is a riddle for you. How many cultures gave up the wheel? The short answer is none. However Joseph Smith said the people came to America with horses and oxen and carts. There simply is no evidence in the archeological record of any this being true. So if the people who came to America (natives) came with horses and oxen and carts why were there no horses or oxen or carts when the Europeans arrived a few thousand years later?
