My discussions with non Muslims

Usually when I have discussions with non Muslims about Islam it’s never academic as it’s almost never about the teachings of the scripture or religion.
It’s always country A or person B.
When Muslims are 2 billion different people
And Muslim majority countries vary economically socially linguistically culturally historically etc..
especially taking into consideration that throughout history some of the “best “ and “advanced “ nations and kingdoms were ruled by Muslims . So “Islam “ making a country backward or less advanced proven by history to be untrue.
🌿
Last but not least, I leave a verse from the Quran i like :

The prosperity / advancement of a land can change with the blink of an eye
It’s always what’s in the heart.
Hence I don’t really care when a non Muslim shouts how bad the situation is in country A or country B
Oh and top of that leaving other normal advanced Muslim countries

Do you agree with Sharia law?
@TheWildEcho which one ?
There is no one book of sharia all Muslims agree on.
Sunni have 4 schools
Shia have 3 schools
& so on.

I think those who say sharia law don’t really understand it.
And sharia is only the Arabic word for law
You are now saying “law law “
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Islamreligion would you like to live in a country where it's law?
@TheWildEcho which one?
There are plenty of Muslim majority countries They vary.

Oh and throughout history
Some of the most advanced nations were Muslim kingdoms
Like the Andalus if you know history
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Islamreligion not so now!
@TheWildEcho ?

South Africa is majority Christian yet one of the worst places on earth to live in especially for women.
So you have no point.
You gotta debate religion not country because when we talk about country we talk human imperfections and pure politics

Muslim countries vary
You have Indonesia
Malaysia
Why not talk about how great and tolerance these countries are ?
Or uae
Foreigners are now leaving their homes to go live and work in uae now
And so on
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
Well I'd sooner live in South Africa than Afghanistan, Iran or Saudi Arabia where Christians are being beheaded for their faith. I'm not here to discuss regimes in other countries I simply wanted to know if you agreed with Sharia law, I'm not trying to catch you out I'm simply interested. You seem to have totally sidestepped my question, I just wanted a simple yes /no answer
@TheWildEcho lol

Saudi Arabia is far better than South Africa
Socially & economically etc
By millions of times
Unless you don’t know anything about Saudi Arabia or the world today in general.

Saudí Arabia is one of the G20 countries (The G20 is composed of most of the world's largest economies, )
On top that ,
It is The safest country especially among the G20 countries.
“ Saudi Arabia has ranked the safest among G20 countries according to two reports on international indicators, outperforming the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.”

Moreover ,
It has one of the happiest populations in the world !
When it comes to happiness “Saudi Arabia has been ranked third among the GCC countries and 25th place in the world, ”

And while in south Africa rape is common
In Saudi it’s almost non existence and age for marriage is 18+ In Saudi while many non Muslim countries have it at lower age

Moreover women in Saudi are business owners
Theyr teachers
Engineers
Surgeons
Etc
And no head covering or face covering is enforced by law in Saudi

Saudi is filled with concerts seasons and events
Has some of best technology and places to visit.
While in usa even ambulance you need to pay for
In Saudi health care and education are for free for citizens

+
The non Muslims who come live or visit Saudi Arabia are treated with love and respect
You can see such videos on YouTube of foreign travelers visiting Saudi

Actually a huge portion of Saudi Arabia's population today is actually foreign residents immigrants or expats.

so I don’t know what image of “Saudi “
You have in your mind
But it’s definitely lacking a lot of accuracy.

And you also forget many Muslim countries
Like Egypt, Maldives, untied Arab emirates ,
Malaysia , Indonesia etc
But you’d rather see one side of the coin
And I can do that very easily about every religion
@TheWildEcho
And you keep saying “sharia law”
But again there is no such thing as one sharia law id like to see it
There are literally different opinions , books and schools for sharia
Muslims all their lives disagreed about what sharia is
So you literally have absolutely no knowledge

And I have visited and lived in many Muslim countries and I currently live in one.

Some of the safest most hospitable and advanced countries I visited were Muslim countries
But what you do is give one country like Afghanistan that is suffering politically like many other non Muslim countries
And say “ go live there”
pathetic approach to an academic discussion
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Islamreligion when did I say go live in Afghanistan? I didn't, you clearly didn't read my post properly, I would never tell anyone to go and live anywhere they didn't want to!!
@TheWildEcho you are the one who brought up Afghanistan on my post that has nothing to do with it lol
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Islamreligion I never told you to "go live there" which is what you accused me of!!

@Islamreligion I just read the book infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Saudi Arabia was one of the countries she lived in and it sounds terrible for women. They are not allowed to go anywhere without a male escort. They also are not able to choose who they marry and I’m sure sometimes these women will have to have sex with a husband t the hey don’t want which is rape. This type of rape would not be reported to the police. So I don’t think we really know how much unreported rape that happens in that country. Also it sounds terrible to have to dress like that in a hot desert.
I have heard rhey are finally starting to allow women to drive though so to be fair that sounds like an improvement.
@Bandit2398 lies you can go everywhere with no male in Saudi
Just today I took a train ALONE from a city to another
Bunch of lies and misinformation
Unfortunately.
Saudi is not a representation of Islam
It represents itself only.
Few years ago women couldn’t drive (the only Muslim country that didn’t allow women to drive ) for years now women drive in Saudi

Did Saudi change or the religion change ?
Prophet Mohammed never said women can’t drive lol cars didn’t exist back then moreover women back then rode camels just fine

And in Islam a woman must consent for marriage
You lack accurate information about Islam

Today there are many Hindu /Buddhism countries in the gutter
Lacking socially economically
Since when is a country a criteria to judge a religion that existed for hundreds or thousands of years ?
@Bandit2398

There is a hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that prohibits forced marriage of girls in Islam. The hadith was written as Saheeh Muslim in 1419 and is also included in Saheeh al-Bukhari 6968. The Holy Prophet said that “a woman (whether she is a virgin, divorced, or a widow) cannot be married to anyone until her permission is sought.” This shows that Islam does not condone forced marriages.

Forced marriges is a cultural thing not religious it happens even in India by Hindu families

So
Please speak academically about Islam or do not.
You are free to speak ill of any country or politics
But relating “religion “ to how a country functions is not an academic case to present
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
@Islamreligion https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2019/aug/01/saudi-women-can-now-travel-without-a-male-guardian-reports-say
According to this article things have changed in Saudi Arabia since aryaan hirisi ali lived there so we might both be right.
@Bandit2398 see , I’m glad we agree

A country change it’s law overnight 🤷‍♀️
I don’t judge Islam by how a country functions
Because every country is different
@Bandit2398

“ changed in Saudi Arabia since ”
In Saudi Arabia before the 70s-80s ,
Women used to wear whatever they want no cover needed etc…
Then extremism entered Saudi
And remained for some decades
And now saudi is getting rid of the extremism and simply going back to how things were , moderate accurate Islam.

So which Saudi are we gonna judge Islam by?
Saudí before the extremism , or during extremism , or now that it’s trying to go back to how it was before extremism ?

Funny how when Islam is mentioned people rush to mention Saudi who is barely 100 years old
Instead of scripture

“Look at Country A or B “ is a delusional game
Especially that Islamic kingdoms fell and rose throughout history
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Islamreligion why do they still behead people? It's horrendous, gruesome and barbaric!
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
@Islamreligion we do not agree. You claimed aryaan hirsi Ali told a lot of lies about Saudi and you were wrong. She told the truth.
@TheWildEcho

You mean the death penalty that nations throughout history did ?

And over what crime are we talking about ? Be more specific .

I think this is what’s barbaric

14 year old child in usa was killed by electric chair for *suspension * of murder
Which by the way decades later turned out he was innocent
@Bandit2398
Well I speak about Saudi today

All what you said about saudi today is inaccurate

Since we do not judge a country by its past
Otherwise no country today would stand a chance

And when are we going to talk religion instead of a country that is barely 100 years old with changing law?
Or the fact before 70-80s women in Saudi wore whatever they wanted but it was the extremism movement that changed everything and now saudi is going back to how things were before extremism ?
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Islamreligion so you think it's ok to chop people's heads off with a sword?
@TheWildEcho
All Nations have done it throughout history lol
And it
Depends
didn’t hitler deserve it ?
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Islamreligion no not all nations have chopped people's heads off with a sword
