I like the first one. What are Du'as? I'm trying to figure out how to count seven.
NickiHijab · F
@SW-User dua is the Arabic word for prayer
SW-User
@NickiHijab So that's one of the seven that people should know then, not that it is made up of seven?
@SW-User
in Islam there are two types of prayers
one is called “ salah”
And the other is called “ dua “
(Many Muslim girls are names dua too!)
__
What is the difference?

There are 5 obligatory “salah “ each day
They have specific times , and specific rules.
1/ why specific times ?
It teaches the Muslims that nothing is more important when it comes to God. It is a daily test of belief.
Moreover , it disciplines the soul
Teaches time management
Self control
And keeps a strong relationship with God among other reasons
(There are exceptions ofc , there are exception in every rule in Islam)
2/ there are specific movements and they come in steps
Standing up then kneeling then standing up again then prostrating etc..
and we do it 5 times a day
it has many benefits for our physical mental and spiritual health
And other reasons that only God knows
3 /the prayer is done in Arabic.
Why?
To preserve the original message of God
That is how the Quran was preserved word by word. The Quran has only one original version.
Moreover so that people of different races And languages can pray together shoulder to shoulder
And that’s what you will see
Wether you enter a mosque in India
Or usa or Albania or Australia or The Maldives or France or Egypt
You will see people of all colors in one mosque not understanding each other
But the moment they start praying it’s like they have known each other for decades and everyone understands what’s being said.

What is dua ?
Dua is a prayer that is verbal only with no action (unless you want to like raising hand or prostrating etc..)

You can do it while lying down in bed
Or while driving
At any time any where
And in any language
@SW-User
There is no such thing as 7 dua that Muslims “must know “

It is just a title some Muslim made to teach Muslims some of the dua that passed us
down from prophet Mohammed

Like people who post videos like “3 dishes you must try when you go to Mexico “

(Dua can either be a dua said by prophet Mohammed or any dua you want to say with your own words )

But you can look up more Islamic dua if you are interested darling
SW-User
@Islamreligion I'm asking what the title means, not if it is an official title or something.
SW-User
@Islamreligion Is the group of words in the first image you posted one dua or seven?
@SW-User ohh okay , I got you
Well I hope my comment about dua vs salah
Was helpful 🌿
@SW-User one only
SW-User
@Islamreligion Yes, that was very clear.

@SW-User what she said

I also forgot to mention
but
“salah”
Also Requires ablution (dua do not )
Muslims preform ablution before each of the 5 salah prayers
To cleanse self before prayer.
From dirt , germs etc
it is a reminder to always be mindful of our hygiene
also many other reasons
Like taking the prayer seriously
Just like how you’d look your best at job interviews
Moreover
So your smell , looks etc
Do not harm those around you
Especially that obligatory prayers are done at mosque and with mases most of the times
And so on
Prophet Mohammed said :

“Purity is half of faith “
And
“Whoever takes a bath on a Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Friday

Not only self hygiene but the cleanliness of roads :

Removing harmful things from the road is an act of charity ”

I spoke a lot about prayer
But of course the most important thing in Islam is the system of belief that lays within heart
God says
[Al-Baqarah - Verse 177
{
Righteousness is not in turning your faces towards the east or the west(for prayer ) Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to ……}

Kinda reminded me of this Muslim rapper who was judged about his strength of beliefs because of the nature of his profession
[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d8AhCCC_ZI]
[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKwfGjFlbtk]

That is why I like the verse
Al-Hujurat - Verse 12
{
O believers! Avoid many suspicions, ˹for˺ indeed, some suspicions are sinful. And do not spy, nor backbite one another….}

Have a great day
