No record of wrongs

Many know of the great "hymn to love" in the NT.

Many also tell us that "God is Love".

In the hymn to love one attribute of love is that it "keeps no record of wrongs".

It seems to me, simply observing and taking the words of others at face value, that in many theologies and Christian witness, the God they testify to does in fact "keep a record of wrongs".......
Yeah scripture says that God is love: "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." - 1 John 4:8

And also gives the definition of love: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

But then it gives this description of God: "Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God." - Exodus 34:14

And then defines what jealousy does: "... for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me." - Exodus 20:5

So how can YHWH's name be jealous if his name is YHWH. Nor does the tetragrammaton mean jealous. Jealous means being afraid of losing something you have which conflicts with: "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." - 1 John 4:17
So how can God who is love fear and not be perfect in love.

Also the effect of God's jealousy is to hold grudges and curse the innocent for the actions of their ancestors which conflicts with all of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Which sounds like self seeking and extremely conditional love that delights in evil.

This is why I say the verses you choose shows what kind of Christian you are. As there are parts for both good Christians and evil Christians.
@canusernamebemyusername Really, I am not one for labels, but I choose to identify as a Pure Land Buddhist.

From that perspective I actually agree with the Bible verse "No one is good but God alone" and even that all our righteousness is "as filthy rags".

When the Catholic monk Thomas Merton met with the "zen man" D.T.Susuki in New York they parted as they agreed deeply on the words of a South American theologian:-

Praise be to God that I am not good.

Thinking oneself "good" is simply the way of the Pharisee. It divides us from others - which is the ultimate wrong from any Universalist perspective.
