Here Jesus talks about heaven. Do you cancels peoples debts to you?

"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven times.

23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[i] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’

30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.” St. Matthew

@1490wayb He dealt harshly with the people who were taking advantage of the Temple of Yahweh.

Remember not too long after, He was hung on a cross to give forgiveness to all, including the exploitative men in that Temple

@Stereoguy this ties in to romans so well.

Someone might die in place of a good man. Someone else for a great man. Not one person has ever willingly died for an evil man.

But God has shown His great Love and Mercy in that while we were still Evil, He died in our place.

So what right do you have not to forgive?
SW-User
There is no forgiveness for the one that rails against it.

@Stereoguy All sin is held against a man until his heart repents and accepts Christ for what He is: The Lamb of God that takes away our sin. That's what I was saying.
Forgiveness has been dealt to all mankind... but Reconciliation takes two ;)

@1490wayb i have remind myself after years of being taunted, harassed, etc jesus was actually showing much restraint in his own responses to his enemys. that is a type of loving forgivness also

@1490wayb It is. He demonstrated this to the Pharisees when they came to get Him in the garden.
In effect, He said,
Y'all best believe I can call down an army from Heaven and destroy you. But I won't.
Carazaa · F
@1490wayb Who has taunted you?
1490wayb · 56-60, M
@Carazaa no one for a long time.was speaking of jesus' responses to his enemy by showing restraint

@1490wayb Glad you are not being harassed in real life, that's good.

@1490wayb It was a picture of perfection, honestly, the last few hours. Being mocked by His own people. Humiliated, beaten within an inch of His life, flogged, spit on, slapped, knocked around, laughed at, and brutally Murdered on a cross, which is still to this day considered the worst death imaginable.

The all powerful God was hung on a tree He Himself created. He had every right to destroy us in that moment, show His power. But the only words he spoke were Grace to a select few around him He made sure His mother was taken care of. He offered comfort to a thief who was consigned to the same fate. He asked His Father to let Him complete His work. He died in the place of an insurrectionist and murderer. He died in place of the men who divided his clothes among themselves. In the place of all the evil kings of Israel. In place of all of us.

We are all made equal by that. Not one of us has anything on anyone else because of it.

@Carazaa Christianity is a whole different mindset. Yeshua's mission was to bring the Kingdom to us. To unite us all in death to the natural life to take up the spiritual life.

We are meant to transcend all this flesh and muck and mire, to get past all our differences and spread this baptism to the world so that none may perish. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but rather powers and principalities that want nothing more than to see God's favorite creation - Mankind - burn in Hell with Satan for all time.

Nothing is more important than that.
