Religion does offer some value [I Respect Religion]

I don't believe in the existence of spirit, God or heaven. Still, I admire the optimism the religious embody in terms of eternal life. I just think they got the explanation for it totally wrong. I also like all the wonderful charitable work they do. They're mostly good people, and I have no hatred of them. It bothers me that many atheists fixate on ridiculing them and demanding proof.

Please, this is not the place to list atrocities done in the name of religion. We already see enough of that. Peace!

I am being sincere. If you don’t believe in spiritual existence, how do you refer or reference that which is in existence before death? And is connected to emotion, (not in the same weight for all, but some form of thought and mixture of hormones and emotion, )and even not believing is a thought with energy as well. What do you call your... personal energy and existence? You don’t call it spiritual?

@Mindful I accept that you're being sincere, but I have no idea what you're asking.

@SW-User if you have ever held someone’s hand when they die, you feel a loss of energy. The loss of life. It is mind boggling. When you meet people, they exude different types of energy. Many people refer to that as their spirit. I’m asking what or how do you refer to a person who you “feel” or get different energy from. I am trying not to use the word “spirit” here. I suppose one could call it personality. But .... I guess it doesn’t seem the same thing to me.

@Mindful Oh, you're arguing for the existence of spirit I think. Maybe you can create a separate post with all your thoughts on the matter.

Nope. I was asking you what you call it, but I suppose you don’t believe in it— at all. @SW-User
