Religion does offer some value [I Respect Religion]

I don't believe in the existence of spirit, God or heaven. Still, I admire the optimism the religious embody in terms of eternal life. I just think they got the explanation for it totally wrong. I also like all the wonderful charitable work they do. They're mostly good people, and I have no hatred of them. It bothers me that many atheists fixate on ridiculing them and demanding proof.

The pretentious atheists bore me, just as much as the judgemental religious people. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care for either. If you don't believe in God, Heaven, the soul or anything of that nature, great let's eat cake, but if on top of that you feel the need to shit on anyone who does, I'm suddenly less interested in them as a person.
Just how religious people feel the need to impose their ways, it isn't cool when anyone else does it too.
I've seen both.

@newjaninev2 Atheism in general doesn't have ways, but what she's saying is that some people feel the need to make other people be atheists, the same way as some people try to force people to follow a religion. It's not the "ways" of atheism, it's the "ways" of bossy people.

@newjaninev2 I know atheists have no gods. There are some atheists, such as the Chinese government, that try to make it so no one else can have gods either. No one is saying they are the majority, or even a large percentage of atheists, but they do exist. There also used the be the "New Atheism" movement, but between a massive internal rift caused by sexual harassment and misogyny allegations, and a lot of the luminaries dying of old age, it pretty much fell apart.
