What contemporary references are there to Jesus outside of the Bible? [I Religion]

I know there are a couple of tentative paragraphs in Josephus. What else is there?

I think it’s universally agreed that the Josephus text in Antiquities of the Jews is a forgery, perhaps by later Christians.

Apart from Josephus, extracurricular to the Bible there’s; Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, Suetonius, Thallus and Phlegon. The quality goes from questionable to outright straw grabbing, but search them up yourself if it interests you. They aren’t all contemporary either - even the Gospels weren’t written by contemporaries.

@SW-User Thank you for a point in the right direction

You are of course wrong in this @SW-User
@Speedyman No, you are of course totally wrong as usual.

Yawn. Unthinking @NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman It's no wonder you're so ignorant, you fall asleep whenever anyone tries to teach you something.

Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong@NortiusMaximus

Easy to say but you're totally wrong as usual. Try staying awake occasionaly, you just might learn something.

I will not learn anything from you because you know nothing@NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman
I will not learn anything from you because you know nothing
I know a lot more than you because I have learned from others. You have never learned anything of value as your inane comments prove.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
You know nothing because you have learned nothing from anybody else apart from a few stupid atheist websites@NortiusMaximus

It's clear I know a lot more than you. You know nothing apart from what you've read on a few stupid Christian creationist websites. No wonder you're so ignorant.

@NortiusMaximus He just keeps spouting nonsense, claiming everyonf who doesn't agree with him is brainless, idiotic or some other childish insult. He's just a senile old man who wouldn't be worth bothering with if he weren't so potentially dangerous.

Poor lad! (Shakes head)@NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman I would feel sorry for you if you weren't so contemptible.

@Speedyman Last we spoke, we discussed your banal understanding of "design" and how you couldn't demonstrate why complexity necessitates a designer.

I'm bored of you now. I'm looking for someone with a little more substance.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
I’m looking for you for a little substance of how such a complex universe does not require a designer. It is up to an atheist to prove that there is no design. That is common sense which seems to be very lacking among atheists@SW-User
@Speedyman
how such a complex universe does not require a designer.
If complexity mean there must be a designer, how can you explain the origin of the much more complex designer and why the universe could not have originated the same way? Simple logic seems to be completely absent from creationists.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
As you have no logic whatsoever and do not know the meaning of the word I don’t see how you can judge@NortiusMaximus

@NortiusMaximus What you can not ignore is the information that is within every living creature. Even the most basic life form has the information in itself of what it needs to do to stay alive. If if needs a particular enzyme it builds it. If it needs a protein it builds that too. If it needs something in one part of the cell that is in another part of the cell builds a transportation device and moves it. Things like that are not the result of random chance and circumstance. They are the result of design and information.
@hippyjoe1955
Things like that are not the result of random chance and circumstance. They are the result of design and information.
Where's your evidence to support that claim? Also, the postulated designer must be more complex so, by your argument, could not be the result of random chance, it must have had a designer - which, in turn, must have had a designer and so on ad infinitum.

Even if such a designer exist, it would not necessarily be your god. In fact, simple logic shows it's far more likely to be one of the thousands of others.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
You ignore evidence right before you. There is no point in arguing with you because you go around with your eyes shut@NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman
You ignore evidence right before you.
There is no evidence of your specific god. If there were, I'd expect you and your fellow Christian creationist to be able to point to it yet, despite being repeatedly asked, not one of you has been able to. You must be imagining things that aren't there.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
You are shutting your eyes to things which are there. Nothing like wilful ignorance @NortiusMaximus
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@NortiusMaximus Explain the existence of life and if you say evolution we will all laugh at your 19th century ignorance.
Sharon · F
@hippyjoe1955 You're confusing evolution with abiogenesis again. You've been told the difference often enough but it doesn't seem to have sunk in yet. Oh well, if ignorance is bliss you must be deliriously happy.

You explain the existence of life and if you say "god" we can all laugh at your bronze age ignorance.
