I Will Not Assocaite Myself With Religion, Or Lack of Religion

The Christian Right Wing has alienated me completely from Religion. The support , dedication. worship they give to the PIG in office sickens me. Those that label themselves as Christians seem to need that identity to feel superior or chosen over others. I truly feel that John Lennon was right .......

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Ah
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace
You

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
You

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

When I hear someone identify as Christian or The Religious Right Wing I simply walk away from them and kindly say I have no time for you :)

Not all Christians are Right Wing. Christ himself would not have identified with men who are against helping the poor, or who carried weapons.

@SW-User Yes - organised religions with hierarchies and made-up dogma have dominated Christianity for centuries. Some churches are better than others. The old Celtic Church was not too bad; the Free Church of Scotland tried to help the poor; the Quakers had their good points too.

True, which causes me to ask why do so many Christians choose to tell everyone how to live, quote the Bible yet live outside of the teachings of Christ. How do they justify their Bigotry, Hatred, Prejudice, and Judgement. Where do they see Christ in their insanity? Why would their ministers justify the insanity and forgive only a chosen few like The Pig in Office.
Here is one minister I would support without hesitation ,

Members of a Mormon congregation in a Salt Lake City suburb encountered someone they thought was a homeless man at church on Sunday. What they did not know was the man was a bishop for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At least five people asked David Musselman to leave the church property in Taylorsville, some gave him money and most were indifferent.

He said he disguised himself as a homeless man to teach his congregation a lesson about compassion. To make his appearance more convincing, he contacted a Salt Lake City makeup artist to transform his familiar face to that of a stranger not even his family recognized.

“The main thing I was trying to get across was we don’t need to be so quick to judge,” Musselman said.

He received varied reactions to his appearance at church, he said.

“Many actually went out of their way to purposefully ignore me, and they wouldn’t even make eye contact,” he said. “I’d approach them and say, ‘Happy Thanksgiving.’ Many of them I wouldn’t ask for any food or any kind of money, and their inability to even acknowledge me being there was very surprising.”

Bishop Musselman told only his second counselor that he would be disguised as a homeless man. The bishop purposefully walked to the front of the chapel and sat in the front row at the beginning of sacrament meeting. After his counselor’s talk, the bishop had his counselor lean forward over the stand and he asked through a whisper if he could say a few words.

@grasshopper I have heard that story before, in different churches and congregations. I have little faith in any 'organised' church with made-up ceremonies. (I'm Church of England by birth, but they are certainly not perfect). I think the Quakers in the US were pretty good.
Christ's words are pretty clear: 'love thy neighbour as thyself.'
It's unambiguous.

@ThatMusgraveWoman
I am in 100% agreement in regards to the Teachings of Christ
In all his teachings I do not see Hatred Only Love
I do not see Judgement Only Forgiveness
And yet here we are with The Christian Right Wing Identifying With Christ
While Acting Like The Devil

So Tired of Hate

@grasshopper I agree with most, perhaps all, of your points. I am not from the USA, so cannot comment on what is happening over there. But I can say that pretending to identify with Christ while talking hate can never be correct.

You kind of have lumped all religion into the Christian right....

This is a problem.

You've painted yourself in a corner.

@Drewman

I am frustrated that others have not spoken out , have not stood against the injustice and insanity perpetrated by The Christian Right Wing and The PIG In The White House

When You See Wrong You Make It Right .... You Don't Close Your Eyes
@grasshopper more and more Republicans in the Senate are pulling away...as many as 10 and i hope over 20 after a few more months...psychosis is not spiritual.... and too much psychosis hides under religion and the self serving excuses seal it down.

@Whiterosesociety I have things that seperate me from both parties.

But I do contribute to both parties.

The Christian Right Wing is a Cancer not only on Our Country but Our Society as a whole. They disguise their HATE, Bigotry, Prejudice by using the word Christian.
These people are far from Christian and need to be exposed for who they really are.
No Christian would build a wall to turn away the poor, the oppressed or the abused based on skin color.
@grasshopper blocked ... you are just a political hack
I have faith

The Nicene Creed is the statement of my beliefs

@ThatMusgraveWoman we need meaningful ritual that ties us in with grand movements and meanings.

we are so lost as human beings
ThatMusgraveWoman · 70-79, F
@Whiterosesociety I am not a great believer in ritual, but I do see your point. We are certainly lost as human beings.
