I Want to Talk About Religion Peacefully

Heading into the prison for a three day retreat with 60 inmates. Residents Encounter Christ is a powerful experience and has changed many lives. Anyone who prays I would appreciate your prayers that our little team will be used in a great way to bring men to Jesus.

Both of my grandpas are retired preachers. They use to do prison ministry. I think it would be both neat and sad to talk to inmates. (Sad because of their stories!)

@OllyCat12 Just to toss this out there, having spoken with hundreds of inmates, I don't think "sad" was ever an emotion I felt. The closest was probably with pedophiles because almost all of them were molested when they were kids. But still, people are in prison for a reason. They made a choice.

@Ynotisay i understand. It would be hard for me to sympathize with a lot of inmates. But I’m sure there are lots with tragic pasts, or maybe just got caught up in something bad. I think I would try to understand where they’re coming from. But I’ve bever spoken with one, so idk.

@OllyCat12 If you ever get a chance, a lot of big prisons have tours and other opportunities where you can get an up close and personal look. I think you might really get something out of it. I think most people would. I'm pretty sure it would change the opinions that many have about prisons. And it would DEFINITELY make people appreciate their freedom.
