I Am Fascinated By Science, Religion, and Philosophy

Here's an interesting thought. We associate Christianity with the West. They've basque in it's glory and transformed it as a foundation or basis of their daily lives. It has become a dynamic element in the history of the West.

This concept of Christianity is borrowed from the Middle East, where it first came into existence. Jesus was a Middle Eastern man, born and bred in the Middle East. Even the God that Christians believe and pray to - is a God of the Middle East. He chose to reveal himself and his miraculous mighty power and miracles "only" to people of the Middle East.

If Christians can believe and taken in concept and foundation of beliefs of the East. Why are they hostile to the populace of beleaguered countries of the East when they seek refuge. The father of Abrahamic religion was not a White European man, he was an inhabitant and native of the East.

When I explain this concept to my parents, they're often bewildered and hush me up. I'm not religious but the behaviour of some religious people fascinate me.

Hey, we will take your God, adopt his teachings and apply his philosophy to make us holier than thou Middle East. But we refuse to accept you and your way of life.

Your point is? Other than you sound bit racist I don't see the point of what you wrote. If the west had adopted Confucianism would you be saying the same about east asians?
Racist to who? We are not discussing Asians. I didn't make up what I wrote, it's blasted in black and white for all to see. @hippyjoe1955

@Random1Thoughts It is racist. Shame on you.
@hippyjoe1955
I'm white and there's no shame in voicing opinions. Playing the race card is weak argument.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Random1Thoughts You are the only one playing it. An idea such as Christianity or Buddhism or Confucianism is not race based.
Again, if you read my post, I was stating facts. I couldn't care less for the other religion you've mentioned. I will write another post on that. No need to deflect, it's not needed here. @hippyjoe1955
@hippyjoe1955 And it's Eastern rite Christians who are the first to get shit on by Roman Catholics and especially evangelicals and fundamentalists-- so who is racist here?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CopperCicada I am an Anabaptist Evangelical. One son is Roman Catholic and the other Orthodox. I think you have no idea what you are talking about ..... again.
@hippyjoe1955
Your deflection and zero contribution to the discussion with anything worthwhile apart from name calling and issuing the race card is duly noted.
@hippyjoe1955 Actually I do. My own experience of religious bigots. Nothing like personal experience to educate one. I don't know where this wonderfully religiously diverse family of yours resides, but being a Copt or Maronite in the hinterlands of America is no fun.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CopperCicada Oh yes the infallible 'personal experience'. Bwahahahahahaha. From my experience there is no animosity among the various forms of Christianity and am good friends with Copts, Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical. Never and ill word in the entire time. No we don't agree on every aspect of the other's belief but so long as we are seeking Jesus who cares. As Jesus said "I have sheep of other folds".
@hippyjoe1955 Well I came up in the Deep South being bullied as a "Mary Worshipper". I am glad that you have experienced nothing but pan-Christian unity. But it's not my experience.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CopperCicada Oh yes you are a German speaking eastern raised southerner.
@hippyjoe1955 Yea. I actually am. German and Gaelic speaking in my father's Roman Catholic home. Raised in part by Maronite and Syriac rite godparents. Arabs. Moved to the Deep South in my teens.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@CopperCicada Good friends of mine married to each other. Once was RC the other was Presbyterian. He called her a dogan and she called him a prottie. The name calling did not change their love for each other.
@hippyjoe1955 different people. different experiences.

es muss schoen, alles zu wissen!

be well.

@CopperCicada Try not to take offence so often and you won't be offended so often.
