I Can't Stand It When People Fight Over Religion

RANT:

I've never been one to care how someone religiously identifies themselves, however as I become more awakened I've begun to notice how Christianity has a lot of privileges in this world.
I don't have anything against someone being Christian, but I hate how, in the US at least, their religion gets more rights just because it's popular.
For example, here on campus there is someone here every week either blocking your path trying to give you a bible, or they are standing somewhere with a microphone reading from the Bible, going up to people and asking them about Jesus, preaching, or sometimes even verbally targeting people passing by. Also just the other week, someone had a worship concert outside, right in the middle of campus. Now I understand that some people do want to hear all of this, but other people don't believe in this sort of thing or don't want to be bothered with a Christian coming up to them and asking them tons of questions. If I stood outside and walked up to random people asking why they haven't aren't a Satanist, or a Luciferian, or Pagan or anything else, I'd probably be asked to leave by the authorities. And what if I held a ritual right outside on the quad too? Probably the same fate. But you won't see me doing something like that because I'm aware that other people don't want to be bothered with something they don't believe in.
Also, book stores and libraries have an extensive Christian collection of texts(which is okay since Christianity is popular) and they label them properly, but then the small selection of other religious texts is labeled Fiction or Fantasy. If you're going to label those religions as fiction, shouldn't you be labeling Christianity as fiction too? No religion is more or less valid than another.
I don't want Christianity to have less rights, I just want it to start being regarded to like any other religion. They're all equal.

I know I'm late but it's because many believe that their God is the one true God so they don't see it that way. That's why many others are labeled as fiction.

They say "the bible tells me so" so it's truth (to them.) Which is a logical fallacy of course because it's not provable but when they preach like that, their doing so under the assumption that all is truth and everything else is a lie. Really very frustrating.
I agree, totally. What amazes is me is that if someone objects to being so affronted, some Christians actually take the position that they are the ones being persecuted when they are not allowed to harass others or discriminate against non-believers. The U.S. was presumably founded on principles of religious freedom, which logically should include all religions, as well as no religion.

@bijouxbroussard In reality, the US was founded on the principle of freedom of CHRISTIAN religions... ?

The first amendment includes both freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Those groups, just like any group, have to obtain a permit. The other religions have the freedom to do open air speaking of passing out literature in the same manner.

The Christian faith compels its followers to preach the gospel, because Jesus instructed it.

In regards to other religious texts being labeled fantasy/fiction, I would speak to the librarian or book store owner and ask them to classify those books under religion/world religion.

@SW-User So in that permit does it say something about harrassing people that walk by?

Also it's not a local thing. Barnes and Noble classifies the books like that.

Christianity, like Islam, is a triumphant religion which considers itself to be the sole avenue to salvation. Adherents of other faiths, decent as they may be, are ultimately doomed to eternal damnation for their failure or refusal to either accept Jesus Christ as savior or Mohammed as the prophet of G-d. Wherever either of these religions is dominant the attitude is the same. Other religions are allowed to exist but only in a second class (or, perhaps, lower) status.

Mine is right , yours is wrong ! deal with it ! .

Ok ok truth : I don't care much about religion as its offered in a structured form . I can walk past 20 different religious buildings and not be offended .
Just don't try to force your ideas on me .
I have my own , thanks .

@1GHOST Same. I have no issue being around other religious statues, buildings or people. My issue is when they find it okay to try asking you a million questions about the Bible or Jesus when you said that you weren't Christian.

@imLobo No. They have a right to go out there and speak I can't stop them from opening their mouth. My issue is with society.
