I Like to Roleplay

I roleplay on Amino, which is filled with kids mainly aged 14 to 17. Most people roleplay as 18 to earlier 20 year olds on this certain Amino, so they have to roleplay scenes they’ve never experienced before. Like bar scenes. Most of us don’t even know what being drunk is like or what bars are like. I’m doing a detective (him) x serial killer (me) roleplay, yet how do you even write that? I have no clue how detectives or the police force work, and neither does he! It’s just weird if you think about it, young high schoolers trying to write adults how they think adults work. (I’m not in the real adult world, so I don’t truly know how adults work.)
