It is not fair to put silent expectations on someone...

It builds resentment and once you've exploded and told people what your expectations were the whole time and what you think of them, it breeds resentment and a whole lot of hurt.

If you didn't give them a chance to say yes or no... if you just barge in there giving advice or helping with something no one asked you to it is very unreasonable ,to think that they would know what these silent expectations are no matter how clear they seem to you as they had not been verbalized.

I just had one of the most vile attacks, in my outside SW life, because someone became frustrated with me, but never explained what they wanted of me and just expected me to know.
The words were vicious and they even attacked me about my grief at losing my husband.
This person has never done this before and they were very overtired and stressed out.
They later apologize, but with everything in life the damage is already done.
I can forgive, but I don't think our relationship will be the same after this and I will tread more lightly and ask nothing from them.
I needed to vent this out.
