A genuine question on loyalty !

Before I start off on this question, I am not a homophobe. I respect people of all sexual orientations including the asexuals.

Now, I understand in a hetero or homo sexual relationship, loyalty will be a perfectly clear aspect, where the people in the relationship are strictly loyal to one another by being with one another both physically & emotionally as well.

However, with respect to bisexual folks, how does loyalty work? Being a bisexual, you do have indicate that you would like both sexes to be your sexual partners but, that goes right against the lines of loyalty from a hetero or a homo sexual relationship perspective.

I'd appreciate responses to this without insulting or being rude to anyone.

Thank you.

Kay.

Being bisexual has absolutely nothing to do with loyalty or cheating - I’m not sure how you made that conclusion. You’re implying that because someone finds both sexes attractive they can’t hold down a committed relationship. Bisexual means that they find both males and females attractive, however they can still be with one person at a time in a relationship. I’ve had faithful relationships with both sexes. It simply means when I am single and looking for a partner I do not have a preference what the sex of my partner is

being bisexual doesn't mean people are open to dating men and women at the same time. it means they can be attracted to either sex. when a person is bisexual, it doesn't mean they feel they can date multiple people at once. it's just an orientation of attraction & identity wherein they can be attracted to EITHER. if someone is heterosexual, they are attracted to the opposite sex; if someone is homosexual, they are attracted to the same sex; and if someone is bisexual, then they are attracted to either sex- it doesn't mean they feel as if they can date from both sexes at the same time

Bisexuals refers to what they find attractive, not their lifestyle. Bisexuals can choose to stay in a lane for the duration of a relationship if they really want it to work.

@agotamaniscalistic literally too many variables to consider. It boils down to the individual and the nature of thier relationship with. They could both be bisexual and have an agreed upon rules in the relationship. They could simply prefer one way more than the other.

Could things get complicated. Sure, like any relationship. Things can go south. Loyalty comes with time. It's not a given in any relationship.

Thank you @Jessmari . That really was insightful. I liked the way how you put it, loyalty is certainly not a given in any relationship.

would someone who is bisexual ever feel that they are missing out
Pretty much everyone feels that they are missing out on something. Being faithful means you have to live with missing out on quite a lot that you might be interested in and not only as regards sex.
Bisexual is not synonymous to polyamorous. The explanation you just shared is more in line with a polygamous lifestyle.
Then again, you can be both bisexual and polyamorous but that's a different conversation.
I know plenty of bisexuals in committed monogamous relationships. Nothing is different from any other relationship except they have more people to choose from at the start. They may choose to commit themselves to a man or a woman. Nothing else really changes. I have also seen very loyal and loving 3 way relationships where they are with both and make it work. There are all kinds of healthy relationships that look different or sometimes appear the same from the outside. But this bullshit stereotype that bisexuals can't be loyal is nonsense.

Bisexuality means being attracted to males or females (as far as I understand).

You can be bisexual and monogamous. Or polyamorous.

Just like you can be straight or homosexual and monogamous or polyamorous.

Being bisexual does not mean you have two partners!😂
