I Think Polygamy Is Inherently Degrading to Women

Polygamy is gender neutral. Polygyny is one man multiple women. Polyandry is one woman multiple men. Polygyny and polyandry are both forms of polygamy. Nothing about it is degrading if adults accept it for themselves and remain faithful to the agreement.

Where it exists it is usually polygynous. One man, multiple women because it tends to be a part of cultures where women are still considered property. Which is what makes it degrading to women. I get that it’s a matter of opinion—that’s mine.
