There are pros and cons of interracial relationships.
Pros:-1)Hybrid vigor. The child inherits the best of both parents genetics
2)Child grows up in a unique environment whereby he can learn two or more languages
growing up. I.e if the parents are German-Japanese or any other possible combinations
3)Able to explore each other's unique cultural perspective. Couples must respect their
spouse's point of view. Inability to do this will eventually lead to major heartbreak
Cons:-1)Resistance from parents. This is completely natural human reaction to preserve one's
culture and tradition. So the parents cannot be shamed for this.I.e if an Indian boy
marry a White girl, the boy's side might be skeptical of the girls' ability to grasp
and appreciate Indian culture
2) Inability for one of the couple to tolerate other's culture. Again this is not
inherently bad. A conservative Chinese girl might be uneasy to follow her White
husbands' carefree and relaxed lifestyle.
In conclusion, for an interracial relationship to become successful, there must be lots of heart to heart talk, tolerance and empathy. If you blindly follow your lust, that is a recipe for epic disaster.

@CandyCane I lived in the Mid-West. Evidently some places have more interracial couples than others. I never noticed the looks until my boyfriend mentioned it. When you are experience it a few times, you disregard it; however, for him it was something new so he noticed. As for your neighbours, it's great that they don't get looks! However, I am sure it may have happened to them at some point.
