I Have No Problem With Interacial Relationships

With all the racial division in America how do couples in interracial relationships handle it? The guy I'm seeing totally avoids conversation about race and he acts as if there's nothing going on. If we're watching television something comes on about racism he'll switch channels. Its getting to a point where I'm thinking do I really want to take this further. And I'm not sure how to bring the conversation up because obviously he doesn't want to talk about it. Other than that he's a great guy.

I am a mother of 2 young black men one's a sophomore in college and one is in the Air Force . His son is Caucasian and there's no way he can understand how I'm feeling right now. I just don't want him to shrug it off like there's nothing wrong. ☹ I really don't know what to do.

It didn't work out. We stopped seeing each other. We had very different views. He thought BLM was just about protesting and tearing things up which it's not. I tried to explain but it was like talking to a brick wall. I miss him so much but life goes on. I wish him well. But it made me questioned everything about our relationship like did he really loved me like he said and showed. 😒🙄

@PEACH4LIFE: Who knows. So many times people have their own definition of what love is often based on how they were raised. You deserve someone who is able to love all of you and sees you, your children and community from a socially conscious perspective. You're better off not talking to a brick wall in your intimate relationship about the validity of your equal existence.

@zeeva70: Thanks and yes I deserve so much more. But I'm glad it happened when it did. I was gonna give up my job, my home, my surroundings to marry him. Although he only lived 3 1/2 hours away I was gonna be the one who sacrificed it all. He on the other hand had nothing to lose. Thanks for replying!
