I think it’s sad that it should even be a concern in 2018. My parents married in 1956, when in many parts of the country it was illegal and even being seen with my mother would’ve been worth my father’s life.

@beccawitz Apartheid was the law of the land, and his mother was arrested. U.S. Jim Crow was law in several states, but not all. Where my parents married and lived interracial marriage was legal.

Congratulations to your parents on the 62 years! Have you heard much from than on difficulties in the 50’s and 60’s ? I am 68 years old and it amazes me how much has changed. And how much has not@bijouxbroussard
