Minnesota DMV gets revenge on you if you move out of state and get married.

Friend of mine left MN and lived in CA for over thirty years. Came back to live close to here elderly parents. Trying to get her driver's licence transferred and has to take a written test, which she failed! Then has to show all of her marriage certificates and divorce decrees. She was married twice. First time for just under a year. 37 years ago! Good luck finding all of that stuff. Anything she can do to cut through the red tape?

I think the written test thing is standard. I had to do it when I moved from California to Washington. I don't understand the marriage certificate thing, and why she would need it to get a license in Minnesota.
